This was received from our helper, Desiye:&nbsp; <em>Between the governing body and the TPLF terrorist team, fighting is back and attack is from three directions.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">In the area where we work, no other aid organization is operating.&nbsp; We are <em>it<\/em>&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">From an independent source:&nbsp; <strong>The Ethiopian government blocked a declaration of famine in its Tigray region, according to Mark Lowcock, the former&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devex.com\/organizations\/united-nations-un-41567\" style=\"background-color: transparent;\">United Nations<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">&nbsp;undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Skirting around a declaration:&nbsp;Before he left office, Lowcock&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-africa-57432280\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;that &ldquo;there is famine now&rdquo; in the war-torn region, even though the U.N.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfp.org\/news\/un-agencies-concerned-looming-famine-northern-ethiopia-call-urgent-life-saving-action-avert-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">put out a statement<\/a>&nbsp;that didn&rsquo;t go as far &mdash; saying people were &ldquo;on the brink&rdquo; and at &ldquo;risk&rdquo; of a &ldquo;looming famine.&rdquo;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Absent a declaration, the aid sector has used phrasing such as &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/reliefweb.int\/report\/ethiopia\/year-conflict-erupted-nearly-7-million-people-still-suffering-northern-ethiopia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">famine-like conditions<\/a>.&quot;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">This also from Desiye<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">&quot;I transferred the Harambee funds for&nbsp; the orphanages and all of them are tremendously delighted and they convey their warmest gratitude.&nbsp; There is nothing joys than seeing such cheerful facial expressions.&nbsp; I have observed improvement in different aspects, such as mentally, physically, and educational changes.&nbsp; Especially the little kids grown fast, showing visible change.&nbsp; God answered their prayers by giving them generous families in the U.S. Your kindness, encouragement, and compassion will be remained eternally.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Your help brings some joy and hope.&nbsp; In truth, people here are dying of hunger, and the government does no effort to help.
