HARAMBEE (Swahili = “all pull together”) will purchase a goat in your name for a deserving  family in rural Kenya.  The goat will help raise the family from poverty by providing milk to drink & to make cheese.<\/p>\n

The cost is $175–a lot of money for a little animal.  However, these are superior quality dairy goats that yield 3 liters of nutritious milk every day.  We will send  you a tailor-made gift card for the U.S. recipient.   We will take your picture & information to share & give it to the Kenyan family.  They will want to know about you!   <\/p>\n

\nTogether we’ll bring justice and peace to the world…one person, one goat at a time.  We stress that this is NOT a charity program.  We believe that poverty can be a mindset as well as a lack of resources.  So we want to alleviate poverty "from the inside out."  All of HARAMBEE’s programs are partnerships–we afford people the dignity of giving back.  Whoever receives a goat will share milk with a ocal clinic or school.  The firstborn baby goat is given to another family.  We want our program to be successful, fair, and sustainable.  Baraka Agricultural College is helping us implement these goals.  www.sustainableag.org<\/a><\/p>\n

On our recent 2007 trip we began our goat and chicken program at Upendo Village in Naivasha, and at Nyumbani Village in Kitui.  It’s gratifying to know that we can do something to promote health and a better chance for a good future for families.  And…we can only do what we do because of your compassion and generosity.<\/p>\n
